Honoring Our Veterans at PSI
At PSI, we are deeply honored to have several veterans on our team. These individuals have not only served our country with distinction but continue to protect and serve our communities through their work with us.
Veterans Day is a special occasion for us to express our heartfelt gratitude to these brave men and women. Their dedication, discipline, and commitment to excellence are qualities that enrich our organization and inspire us all.
Our veterans bring a wealth of experience and a unique perspective to their roles at PSI. They have transitioned from military service to civilian careers, continuing their mission of safeguarding and improving the lives of those around them. PSI employs dozens of veterans—here are just a few of their stories on what brought them to the Fire & Life safety industry after their military service.
“I went into the Air Force to try and figure out my life’s purpose. I had always wanted a job that helps keep people safe,” shares Tim Claar (Fire Extinguisher Technician). “I earned a degree in Fire Protection Administration and pursued a career in fire extinguishers.”
Keith Emmarson (Fire Sprinkler Technician) also wanted a position that helped to save lives. “I served four years in the Oregon Army National Guard as a combat engineer. I always wanted to be a fireman but decided to go the prevention route and started working with fire sprinklers.”
Several former Damage Controlman from the U.S. Navy have found careers with PSI. Four such team members who came from this role include Ryan Scott (Field Supervisor), Ryne Smith (Fire Extinguisher Technician), Jackson Lacy (Fire Sprinkler Technician), and Richard Hernandez (Mechanical T&I Technician). They were responsible for protecting their ships from fire, flooding, and chemical attacks. “When we weren’t doing training drills, we were maintaining our firefighting equipment,” shares Scott. “When I got out, it was a very fluid transition to the civilian Fire & Life Safety industry where I continue to use many of the skills I gained in the Navy.”
James Dorsey (Inspector), an active-duty veteran from Operation Iraqi Freedom shared, “I was a maintenance mechanic that took care of fire alarm and sprinkler systems and got NICET certified to continue my career in fire safety as a civilian.”
There are many more veterans with PSI who are not featured above. On this Veterans Day, we want to extend our deepest thanks to all our veteran team members at PSI. Your service to our country and your ongoing dedication to our communities are truly commendable. We are proud to have you as part of the PSI family.
Thank you for your service and thank you for continuing to make a difference every day. Your contributions are invaluable, and your presence strengthens our team in countless ways.
