Honeywell Product Retirement & Discontinuation | Performance Systems

Written by Beth Faris | Apr 28, 2023 9:46:01 PM

Products reach the end of their life cycle for a variety of reasons—such as parts or repair resource availability, technology innovation, or the products are no longer feasible to continue support. Honeywell determines retirement dates for legacy products by taking all of these factors into consideration.

Listed below is a list of Honeywell products that have been discontinued or placed into retirement during Q1 2023.

At PSI, our factory-trained and NICET-certified technicians provide comprehensive fire and life safety services—monitoring, testing and inspecting, system maintenance, installations, and code compliance consultations—all under one agreement. Contact us today to schedule your free consultation.

Product Discontinuation: Hochiki® SD Protocol Detectors & Modules

Farenhyt has decided to discontinue the Hochiki SD product line. These devices were originally used on Silent Knight systems from the early 2000s until they were slowly phased out in 2018.

The Hochiki SD product line does not have an exact drop-in device type replacement; however, the fire alarm control panels (FACP) are capable of operating in Farenhyt IDP protocols. Existing sites can replace all Hochiki SD devices with Farenhyt IDP devices to continue using the existing panel.

Honeywell will take a phased approach to the product end-of-life to allow customers time to transition installed systems to other products. Additionally, the Hochiki SD photoelectric detectors are only listed to UL268 6th edition; this timing will ensure the conversion is complete well before the UL268 7th edition 2024 effectivity date. The product line will be fully discontinued on December 31, 2023.

Please place any orders for these products on or before mid-November to ensure product availability. This will be first-come, first-serve, and while supplies last.

Product Retirement: Legacy Farenhyt Panels & Boards IFP-50, IFP-100, IFP-1000, IFP-2000, IFP-100ECS and IFP-2000ECS

With the release of HFSS software version 7.0.250.0 containing an SKSS importer tool that enables Farenhyt ESDs to import legacy panel programming from SKSS and convert it to HFSS files, Honeywell will be discontinuing the support of legacy panel boards.

The IFP-2000 and IFP-2000ECS will be addressed in an upcoming HFSS update to support SKSS-2 imports in a similar fashion. The exact end-of-life schedule will be different by SKU based on the market availability of the legacy chips, please refer to the below table:
