Mission:
Fireaway LLC is dedicated to the development and application of
innovative, cost effective fire suppression technologies to save
lives, reduce property damage, and downtime.
History:
Recognizing an extraordinary convergence between market needs
and the advent of new technology, Fireaway LLC was founded in
2005 to aggressively commercialize condensed aerosol technology
for use in both innovative extinguishing systems and new fire
fighting strategies.
The company acquired rights to the premier aerosol formulation
in the world which had been developed and enhanced in the US
over the previous 10 years and embarked on an aggressive program
to further enhance product quality, features, and applications.
The management team has over 50 years combined experience in fire protection and this dramatic new technology, including extensive committee involvement with the development of NFPA 2010 Standard for Aerosol Extinguishing Technology.
Additionally, the company
has acquired rights relating to latex intumescing paints - an
extraordinarily cost effective means of preventing fire damage.
Fireaway LLC is funded by experienced individual private
investors and fully controlled by management.
Commitment to R&D:
Our technology is backed by dozens of patents worldwide and
Fireaway continues to file patents on new applications for the
technology. The company maintains test facilities at it
manufacturing plant and is fully committed to the development of
smaller, faster, and more effective fire extinguishing
technology.
Commitment to
Trained Distributors:
Condensed aerosol technology and its application are unique. We
require our authorized distributors to be trained by our
experienced staff so they can design systems using our computer
aided design program to insure customer satisfaction by
optimizing and controlling the design process - ensuring
technical accuracy and compliance with NFPA standards and the
product’s approval agency listings. Our customers can be secure
in the knowledge that our distributors are trained professionals
who understand the technology and its application.
Service:
Any product is, ultimately, only as good as the service that
supports it. We are committed to provide rapid response to our
customer’s questions and special requirements. We ship on time
and complete and are committed to a short delivery cycle.
Facilities
Description:
Our main office is in Minnetonka, Minnesota where the company
assembles and quality checks each of its aerosol units and
maintains its primary administrative offices and fire
demonstration and test chambers. It also maintains an
administrative and sales office in New Jersey and contract
manufacturing of First responder products and aerosol
compositions in Florida and Louisiana. Production is to Mil-Spec
and ISO 9001:2000 requirements.
PRODUCTS:
Engineered Systems: These
products are electrically actuated units ranging in size from
units containing 30 grams (covering up to .5m3) up to 2500 grams
(covering up to 40m3). These units are typically tied to
conventional fire detection systems and releasing panel.
Thermal Units: These are stand alone units incorporating their own patented detection mechanism, eliminating the need for separate detection and releasing controls. Suitable for a broad range of applications in smaller enclosures, they are available in sizes ranging from 30 grams (covering up to .5m3) up to 500 grams (covering up to 8m3). Detection is available in 70°C, 95°C, and 123°C options to insure suitability for the customer’s specific application.
First Responder: The Stat-X First Responder™ is a small, light, handheld unit with a pull actuator designed to be tossed into rooms with active fires to provide immediate fire suppression. Designed for professionals, its small size, around 3-1/3 inches in diameter, 7 inches high, and weighing 2.5 lbs, makes it easily portable even by heavily laden firefighters. It contains 500 grams of the Stat-X compound and is triggered by pull-pin actuator which provides a 5 second delay before the discharge begins.
When used by firefighters it buys time for hose set-up, stops flashover, and can provide an emergency egress route through a wall of flames. Used by police first on the scene, it can slow a fire long enough to allow fire departments to arrive.
Intumescent Paint: Fireaway Guardian paint is a indoor water based latex paint which can be painted, rolled or sprayed just like any other typical paint. When exposed to the heat of a fire, it expands dramatically, up to 50 times and forms a tough, black char layer. In a typical 2 coat application it will provide fire resistance of the same magnitude as 5/8” sheetrock.
In addition to its insulating properties, it only minimally re-radiates infrared radiation helping damp down a fire, and has virtually no flame spread and virtually no hazardous or flammable volatiles. Particularly when used as a coating on spray-on fireproofing, it provides unique and significant fire protection. From a cost standpoint it is only slightly more expensive than a good quality latex paint and application costs and procedures are the same.
